Jake McDonald is a junior studying economics and finance from Pensacola, FL. He began an internship with the Federal Bureau of Investigation this past summer and will continue to intern there until graduation. His interests include avidly following his New York sports teams, keeping up with politics, and devoting countless hours to reading. At UA, his involvement centers around Alpha Rho as Vice President of Alumni Affairs and First College Ministry, where he serves as Vice President, along with membership and participation in many other groups on campus such as the Business Honors Program. He hopes to pursue a career in economics, horseracing, politics, or some intersection of these topics. If you need some winning picks for the Kentucky Derby next year, he's your guy.

CZECH THIS OUT – INTERNING ABROAD

Isaac Chambers is junior from Atlanta, GA, currently majoring in marketing and minoring both professional sales and computer technology & applications. He is passionate about working to improve minority representation on campus by serving as the Director of Campus Outreach for First Fellows and as a Peer Leader for the First Year Experience program. Isaac has been active and engaged with Alpha Rho since his initiation in Fall 2017, most recently serving as Chapter Collaboration Chair. When Isaac isn’t at The Capstone, he loves attending concerts and visiting new cities with his friends.

TAKING OFF INTO MY CAREER

Garrison Kennedy is a senior studying aerospace engineering. As apart of the Fall 2018 Pledge Class, he was a little late to the party, but is taking full advantage of his short stint. Originally from Bowling Green, KY, Garrison is involved in American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics on campus and will start his senior design project in the fall. This summer he is interning at Eglin AFB just across the bay from Destin, FL. Garrison enjoys watching, talking, and playing sports and loves how it brings people together. He also loves Star Wars (shocker) and thoroughly enjoyed Game of Thrones Season 8 because he is a rational human and saw it coming from a mile away.

ASKING NICELY

Catherine Besand is a sophomore majoring in marketing with big dreams of working in entertainment and hospitality. She is in the Million Dollar Band Color Guard and will serve as Recruitment Chair and Parliamentarian for Alpha Rho this coming year. Catherine loves to volunteer with children’s organizations, work with Culverhouse Connections as a member of their Student Leadership Board, and attend American Marketing Association meetings to learn more about the industry she wants to enter into. Catherine loves a challenge and is always in search of the next opportunity to excel. If you need to find her, she’ll either be studying in Gorgas Library, performing at Bryant-Denny Stadium, or riding every ride at Walt Disney World. ​

HOW A SPRING BREAK TRIP INFLUENCED MY CAREER

Katie Nunez is a junior from Nashville, TN majoring in public relations and international studies with a spanish minor. She is involved on campus through her work at the student union and the International Relations Club. Katie is passionate about travel and languages, and can often be found running, obsessing over her calendar, or drinking unhealthy amounts of coffee in her free time. An Army brat, Katie icares about giving back to her community and plans on pursuing a career in government public affairs where she can combine her love for communication and public service.

REFLECTING ON MY TIME ON THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

AnnaLaura Campbell is a senior accounting major and religious studies minor from Bailey, Mississippi, and served as the 2018 Vice President of Membership for the Alpha Rho chapter. She loves traveling, food, and Netflix. AnnaLaura is briefly studying abroad in Ghent, Belgium, and Prague and is loving her time in Europe. When she returns to the States, she will be interning at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi in the internal audit department. AnnaLaura loves the big city life, but thrives as a Bama girl in Tuscaloosa!

THE IMPORTANCE OF UNDERSTANDING COMPANY CULTURE IN THE JOB SEARCH

Ronnie Ecoff is a junior economics and finance major. He has a passion for sports analytics, travel, and spreading positivity as he interacts with other students in the business world, Honors College, and housing communities. Ronnie is currently interning in the financial planning and analysis department with Southwest Airlines in the Dallas Ft. Worth Area and will be interning with risk management at PNC Bank in his hometown of Pittsburgh over the summer. His personal interests include analyzing the strategy side of sports and serving time helping the Type 1 Diabetic community, a cause that he is personally invested in.

Katrina Waelchli is a senior sports and entertainment public relations major and general business minor. She is a communications devotee, social engager and student, heavily involved on campus through the communications college, business college, student union and more. Katrina spent her recent summer interning at a global marketing agency in New York City. This Michigan native is fashion-enthused and spends her free time fashion blogging on "Sincerely Katrina."
